The short film “SNAP!” written and directed by my friend Zachary Brown of Conflux Studio in B’ham.
Soundtrack/original score/recorded by Bob Paltrow
The production of SNAP! was a community labor of love for movies and original storytelling, featuring all local talent and crew.
I have a role in the film as a TV producer who auditions the lead character “Sam,” played by Zachary’s 6-year-old nephew Cooper. Cooper’s dad, and Zach’s brother, Brennan plays his agent in the limo photos. Also in the film, in the limo scene is Minae Lee, who was also on set art director. Crystal Zingsheim is featured as the executive producer on “The Kid’s Got Talent” television show.
SNAP! was filmed Aug 21-22, 2017 during the summer’s eclipse in various locations in downtown Bellingham, including historic Mt. Baker Theater.
The SNAP! storyline traces the adventure of Sam, an ordinary kid walking around a bustling downtown one summer’s day, and through a series of unexpected events — and one exceptional talent — he becomes a finalist in the fictional “The Kid’s Got Talent” show. A modern-day, and slightly macabre, twist on the French classic, the Red Balloon.
SNAP! premiered in January 2018.
